Squivr: User Permissions Sets

Permission sets in Salesforce allow administrators to extend user access without changing profiles. Assigning permission sets is the recommended method for granting users access to specific Squivr functionality.

This article provides two methods for assigning permission sets: through the User record or directly from the Permission Set page.

Use the below table as a guide for assigning Squivr permissions.

Method 1: Assigning Permission Sets from a User Record

Use this method if you are managing access on a per-user basis.

Step-by-Step Instructions

1. Navigate to Users

   • From Setup, enter Users in the Quick Find box

   • Select Users from the results

2. Select the User

   • Click the name of the user you want to assign a permission set to

3. Open Permission Set Assignments

   • Scroll to the Permission Set Assignments related list

   • Click Edit Assignments

4. Assign or Remove Permission Sets

   • To add, select the permission set(s) from the Available Permission Sets list and click Add

   • To remove, select the permission set(s) from the Enabled Permission Sets list and click Remove

5. Save Changes

   • Click Save to finalize the updates

Method 2: Assigning Permission Sets from the Permission Set Page

Use this method to manage multiple users at once for a specific permission set.

Step-by-Step Instructions

1. Navigate to Permission Sets

   • From Setup, enter Permission Sets in the Quick Find box

   • Click Permission Sets

2. Select the Permission Set

   • Click on the name of the permission set you want to assign

3. Manage Assignments

   • Click Manage Assignments

4. Add Assignments

   • Click Add Assignments

   • Select the users you want to assign the permission set to

   • Click Assign, then click Done

Best Practices

• Use permission sets instead of profiles for flexible and scalable access control

• Group users by access level (e.g. Base User, End User, Admin) to simplify permission management

• Always verify access by logging in as the user or confirming visibility of Squivr components
