Determine which colors are available and provide color labels that resonate with your organization. This article will walk through setting up the Card Color Legend for Account and Contacts and how you can extend this functionality so that it is available on any object that Org Chart has been configured for. Additionally, this article documents the available options for displaying the legend to end users.
Note that updating the Card Color Legend requires System Administrator permissions. The labels associated with the color are stored as Custom Metadata. Creating a new and updating an existing legend deploys metadata within your Salesforce organization.

Color Legend on any Object
To use Card Color and to define a Color Legend for an object other than Account or Contact you first need to create a custom field that uses the Squivr Card Color Values picklist value set. After that, you will be able to define a Card Color Legend via Org Chart Configuration.
- From Setup, navigate to Fields & Relationships on the Object you want to add Card Color to
- Create a new field of type Picklist that uses the Card Color Values as the picklist value set
Once created, in this instance we created the field on the Case object, you will be able to define the Card Color Legend.
**In addition to seeing the card color icon and updating the card colors in the detail panel you can add a card color component to your page layout to surface the labels and colors
