As part of the Squivr 1.32 release, Parking Lot was introduced to Org Chart. This exciting new feature allows users to have greater control over which Accounts and Contacts appear on the Org Chart.
Parking Lot Features
A new field, Parking Lot Reason, has been added to the Contact and Account objects. This is a picklist field and the values are controlled by a global value set (Parking Lot Reason). When this field contains a value, the Contact or Account appears in the Parking Lot. Note: To use the Parking Lot on other objects, you will need to add a field that references the global value set (Parking Lot Reason). You will then need to update the object global settings in Org Chart Global settings to have the Parking Lot Reason field populated for the newly configured object.
From Org Chart, users are able to drag and drop configured Objects to and from the Parking Lot. This action updates the Parking Lot Reason field value accordingly. Accounts and Contacts are pre-configured for this functionality.
A user can also utilize the Remove Independent Contacts action to move configured Child Objects, in bulk, from the Org Chart to the Parking Lot. An Independent Record is defined below using Contacts as an example -
- A Contact that is a direct child of the Account in view
- A Contact that does not contain a ReportsTo value
- A Contact that is not selected as the ReportsTo value for any other Contact
Using Parking Lot with Account Contact Relationships
Note: this is only relevant if you have configured Org Chart to map hierarchy using Account Contact Relationships.
You can manage an Accounts indirect relationships using Squivr Parking Lot in the same way you manage direct relationships. The difference is if you move an indirectly related Contact to Parking lot, Squivr updates the IsActive field on the AccountContactRelation object to false.
