Squivr AI allows Salesforce Admins to automatically generate Org Charts by configuring rule-based logic tied to specific objects and fields. This eliminates the need for manual data entry and ensures your Org Charts stay aligned with CRM data.
This guide outlines how to implement Object Rule Configurations to enable auto-building of Org Charts within your Salesforce environment.
1. Prerequisites
Before setting up Object Rule Configurations, ensure the following:
-
The Squivr managed package is installed in your Salesforce org
-
Salesforce Enterprise Edition or higher is in use
-
Lightning Experience is enabled
-
My Domain is configured
-
Squivr Org Chart is deployed on the Account Lightning Page
-
You have Admin access to configure custom settings and assign permission sets
2. What Are Object Rule Configurations?
Object Rule Configurations define how Squivr AI automatically populates the Org Chart by analyzing data relationships in your CRM. These rules:
-
Identify Contacts and assign their reporting structure
-
Use field logic (e.g. Manager ID, Role, Department) to build hierarchy
-
Operate in the background to update or build Org Charts without manual input
This feature is especially useful when your team consistently populates key fields like reports-to relationships, job titles, or roles.
3. Accessing Object Rule Configuration Settings
To configure the rules:
-
In Salesforce, navigate to the App Launcher
-
Search for and open Squivr Org Chart Configurations
-
Click the Settings gear icon
-
Select Manage Object Rule Configurations
From here, you can create new rule configurations or edit existing ones.
4. Creating a New Object Rule Configuration
Follow these steps to define the logic used for auto-building Org Charts:
-
Click New Rule
-
Select the Object you want to use as the source (usually the Contact object)
-
Configure the following fields:
-
Parent Lookup Field: The field used to determine reporting structure (example: Manager ID)
-
Filter Criteria (optional): Use filters to restrict which records are included (example: only Contacts with a certain Record Type)
-
Title Field: Defines what is shown as the job title on the Org Chart
-
Role Field (optional): If your org uses a custom field to define relationship roles, map it here
-
Account Lookup Field: Defines which Account the Contact belongs to, used to anchor the chart
-
-
Click Save to activate the rule
5. Review and Test
Once your rule is configured:
-
Navigate to an Account record that includes related Contacts matching your rule
-
The Org Chart should auto-populate based on your configuration
-
Confirm that the hierarchy accurately reflects the data
-
Edit or deactivate the rule if adjustments are needed
If multiple rules exist, Squivr will evaluate them in the order defined and apply matching logic accordingly.
6. Best Practices
-
Ensure your source object (usually Contact) contains consistently populated manager or reporting fields
-
Use filters to exclude incomplete or irrelevant records
-
Test with a small sample of Accounts before wide deployment
-
Combine with custom field mapping (via Org Chart Global Settings) to maintain data consistency
