Deleting a Squivr Whitespace Analysis template from an account
This article explains how to properly delete a Whitespace Analysis associated with a specific template in Salesforce, including the required page layout configuration to access and remove the related records.
Overview
When a Whitespace Template is retired, replaced, or no longer in use, any Whitespace Analysis records created from that template may need to be removed.
Deleting the template alone does not automatically remove existing Whitespace Analysis records. These must be deleted directly from the associated object (typically the Account record).
To do this, you must first ensure the Whitespace Analysis Related List is visible on the applicable page layout.
Step 1: Add the Whitespace Analysis Related List to the Page Layout
To add the related list:
Navigate to Setup in Salesforce.
Go to Object Manager.
Select the object where Whitespace Analysis is used (most commonly Account).
Click Page Layouts.
Select the active page layout.
Scroll to the Related Lists section.
Locate and drag Whitespace Analysis Summary into the Related Lists area.
Click Save.
Step 2: Locate the Whitespace Analysis Record
Once the related list is added:
Navigate to the record (for example, the Account) where the Whitespace Analysis was created.
Scroll to the Whitespace Analysis Summary as a Related List.
Identify the Whitespace Analysis record associated with the template you want to remove.
Step 3: Delete the Whitespace Analysis Record
To delete the Whitespace Analysis:
Click the dropdown arrow next to the Whitespace Analysis record.
Select Delete.
Confirm deletion when prompted.
Important Considerations
Deleting the Whitespace Template does not automatically delete associated Whitespace Analysis records.
Each Whitespace Analysis must be deleted individually from the related object record unless mass deletion is performed via Data Loader.
Ensure no reporting or automation dependencies rely on the records before deletion.
Users must have appropriate delete permissions for the Whitespace Analysis object.
