Introduction
This article will document key terminology as well as outline the steps required for defining a new Group Configuration
Terminology
Field | Definition |
Name | The name should be something that will help admin users know which configuration to select. |
Label | For parent Group Configurations, this is the primary label for all child groups. For child Group Configurations, this will be the label for each Group Card |
Allow Add | This is only relevant for child Group Configurations and will determine if end users can manually add records to the Group created from the current Group Configuration |
Parent Group Configuration | This will determine which Group Configuration is the parent of the child Group Configurations. |
Description | This is only relevant for child Group Configurations and will be displayed when the Group Cards related to this Group Configuration is expanded. |
Active | Set to true if the Group Configuration is ready to be evaluated for Groups |
Use Default Org Chart Configuration | Set to true if you wish to use a Squivr provided Org Chart Configuration. |
Default Org Chart Configuration | The Squivr provided Org Chart Configuration you wish to use. When it is a child Group Configuration, you must choose a child Org Chart Configuration. |
Org Chart Configuration | The Custom Org Chart Configuration you wish to use. When it is a child Group Configuration, you must choose a child Org Chart Configuration. |
Creating Group Configurations
Parent Group Configuration
- Navigate to the Group Configurations tab and click New
- Provide a Name that will help admins select the correct configuration when editing configurations
- Provide a Label that will help end users know what is contained within the child group cards
- Select Active when you are ready to have groups created on the object of the selected Org Chart Configuration
- Select Use Default Org Chart Configuration if you want to use a Squivr provided Default Org Chart Configuration, otherwise, select a parent Org Chart Configuration. If you select Use Default Org Chart Configuration, select a parent Default Org Chart Configuration (not one that includes child)
- Optional:
- Define Rule Criteria for the parent Group Configuration create criteria.
Child Group Configuration
- Navigate to the Group Configurations tab and click New
- Provide a Name that will help admins select the correct configuration when editing configurations
- Provide a Label that will help end users know what is contained within the child group cards
- Select Allow Add if you want end users to be able to manually add records to groups
- Parent Group Configuration should be auto populated. You should create your child Group Configuration from the parent Group Configuration
- Set the Description as helpful text for when the Group card is expanded on the records where the Groups exist.
- Select Active when you are ready to have groups created on the object of the selected Org Chart Configuration
- Select Use Default Org Chart Configuration if you want to use a Squivr provided Default Org Chart Configuration, otherwise, select a parent Org Chart Configuration. If you select Use Default Org Chart Configuration, select a parent Default Org Chart Configuration (not one that includes child)
- Optional:
- Define Rules and Rule Criteria to define the records that should be added to the group
